What is a Consultant?
The Consultant role is varied day-to-day and you will work with different members of the Abianda team. The Consultant role is about making changes in the way young women are understood and supported by professionals, and we do this in lots of different ways.

  • Inspire professionals to have hope for the Young Women they work with
  • Educate professionals to work with young people using a strengths-based approach
  • Share their own knowledge with young women by training and mentoring them, and supporting them to increase their confidence
  • Promote​ the importance of having young people's voices heard in decision making
  • Gain real professional experience to move into the next step of their lives
What will I be doing?
As part of the Participation team, there are opportunities to:
  • Co-deliver professional training to frontline services such as police, social workers, youth workers, YOS, and more
  • Work with young people in  schools and youth clubs co-facilitating group work and delivering sessions
  • Create campaigns to raise awareness of issues impacting young women
  • Work with other specialist youth organisations to highlight how best to work with young people
  • Have input into Abianda services, systems and materials

What are the criteria to apply for a Consultant position?
  • You have completed the Elevate programme
  • You are aged 16-24
  • You have previously used Abianda services
