Girls and Young Women Fund

Our CEO and Founder, Abi Billinghurst, has written about Abianda's work and our role in the Mayor's Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC) Girls and Young Women Local Groups Fund, reflecting on why she set up Abianda, what makes our model of practice distinct, and what it means to work alongside partners we hold in such high regard.

Since founding Abianda in 2011, our starting point with every young woman and girl we work with has been the same question: what is happening around her, and how has she managed to survive? That question shapes our four practice pillars: participatory, contextual, ecological and solution-focused, and it's at the heart of what this fund is trying to do differently: understanding risk and need for girls and young women, and making sure specialist support is there to meet it.

We're grateful to be doing this work alongside Social Finance and Agenda Alliance, partners whose track record in evidence-based practice we admire hugely.
