Introducing Our New Trustees - Rula

Updated: 14 minutes ago

We’re delighted to introduce Rula Tripolitaki, one of Abianda’s newest trustees - a dynamic, strategic thinker whose energy, creativity, and deep commitment to improving the lives of children and young people are already making an incredible impact.

Rula is currently Head of Delivery & Workforce at the London Innovation & Improvement Alliance (LIIA), where she works with all 33 London Directors of Children’s Services to deliver transformation at scale across the capital. Her pan-London perspective, sharp strategic insight, and proven ability to connect the dots between policy, practice, and people make her an invaluable addition to Abianda’s Board.

With a background in public sector consultancy, Rula brings over a decade of experience in change management, workforce development, and social value design. Her work has consistently focused on improving the experiences of children, families, and practitioners - ensuring systems are not only effective but equitable.

“Abianda’s commitment to amplifying the voices of girls and young women immediately resonated with me. Their culture, values, and strategic vision spoke to my own passion for inclusion and empowerment — I knew I could make myself useful!”

Rula’s contribution to Abianda goes far beyond governance. She brings meticulous attention to detail, creativity, and a fresh perspective to strategic conversations - seeing opportunities where others see obstacles. Already, she’s been rolling up her sleeves alongside the team, helping us think differently and explore innovative approaches across a range of challenges. Her thoughtful curiosity and can-do spirit make her both a critical friend and an inspiring collaborator.

As we deliver our new strategic plan, Rula’s expertise in partnership working, service transformation, and workforce strategy strengthens our ability to influence systems and shape practice across sectors. Her insight helps us bridge the gap between direct experiences and the decision-making spaces that define policy - ensuring that girls and young women’s voices remain central to everything we do.

Rula also understands the realities of leading a small but ambitious charity - from navigating a challenging funding landscape to sustaining our reputation as a trusted, specialist organisation built over 11 years. Her strategic foresight and experience will help Abianda grow its reach, influence, and resilience in an evolving sector.

We’re so proud to have Rula on our board. She’s a visionary, detail-oriented leader whose compassion, creativity, and strategic mind are helping Abianda continue to stand alongside young women, challenge systemic inequality, and reimagine what inclusive, impactful leadership looks like.
