Introducing Our Trustees - Krystle

We’re thrilled to spotlight Krystle McGilvery, a long-standing member of Abianda’s Board and now our Treasurer. Krystle brings a powerful blend of financial expertise, governance insight, and compassionate leadership - all rooted in her deep commitment to financial justice and accessibility.

A chartered accountant with more than 15 years’ experience, Krystle specialises in behavioural finance, combining technical financial strategy with a nuanced understanding of psychology, lived experience, and equity. She is the founder of NeuroFinance OS, a free ecosystem designed to help people build intuitive, empowering money systems, and she regularly advises individuals and organisations on inclusive and values-led financial decision-making.

Abianda’s mission really resonated with me: creating safe spaces for young women affected by exploitation to be heard and supported. After my first conversation with Abi, I knew I wanted to be part of it. It aligns with my personal values of advocacy, inclusion, and ensuring that those often overlooked by systems have access to the tools and confidence to thrive.

Since joining Abianda’s Board, Krystle has provided exceptional scrutiny and leadership across our strategic, financial, and governance work. As we converted to a charity, she stepped into the vital role of Treasurer, ensuring our governance is robust, transparent, and aligned with our mission. She challenges us to think big while staying accountable, balancing ambition with sustainability.

Krystle’s professional achievements are many: she’s been invited to Parliament for her expertise in inclusive finance, named a LinkedIn Top Voice, and recognised as both a Great British Businesswoman Awards Rising Star and a Yahoo! Finance Future Leader. Her career has spanned finance leadership, behavioural science, and coaching - helping founders scale multimillion-pound businesses and supporting individuals to overcome money anxiety and self-doubt.

Yet Krystle’s drive is deeply personal. Raised by a creative, entrepreneurial single mum, she experienced first-hand how financial systems often exclude those they weren’t built for. That experience fuels her passion for equity, advocacy, and system change - values that perfectly mirror Abianda’s mission.

“My hope is that Abianda continues to deliver honest, impactful work that transforms lives. Long term, I’d love to see a world where the need for organisations like Abianda is reduced, where systemic change has made exploitation and exclusion a thing of the past.

Outside of her professional life, Krystle brings energy, humour, and creativity to everything she does. She loves painting, acting, and improv, and is currently learning to sing and juggle! Fiercely competitive and endlessly curious, she’s always ready for a challenge and never afraid to try something new.

Krystle’s unique balance of technical skill, creative thinking, and heartfelt empathy makes her an extraordinary peer, critical friend, and leader at Abianda. Her presence strengthens our financial integrity, strategic focus, and commitment to ensuring that every young woman has access to the tools, confidence, and opportunities to thrive.
